VIGGO MORTENSEN IN GUADALAJARA

The Guadalajara International Film Festival will present in its parallel section Vox Office, the full-length films that have obtained the leading numbers in their countries for box office success in 2006

Some of the films that will be screened are the Mexican film Una historia de huevos, by Gabriel and Rodolfo Riva Palacio; the Columbian production Soñar no cuesta nada, directed by Rodrigo Triana; and the Spanish film Alatriste, by Agustín Díaz Yanes, and Viggo Mortensen as leading actor.

After working as a screenwriter for several years, this Spanish filmmaker initiated as a director in 1995 with Nadie hablará de nosotras cuando hayamos muerto. His screenwriter occupation matches with the rest of his movies: Sin noticias de Dios and Alatriste, adapted from the work by Arturo Pérez Reverte. Viggo Mortensen had made an ample and well-known career, when The Lord of the Rings knocked on his door and transformed him into Aragorn. Alatriste was his third full-length film after shooting the saga by Peter Jackson, participating in Hidalgo, by Joe Johnston, and A history of violence, by David Cronenberg.

Director and actor will participate at the Guadalajara International Film Festival where their film will be screened in a special function for the support of Corporativa de Fundaciones and the work it does in benefit of social organizations and the communities' wellbeing. The function will take place on Friday, March 23 in Teatro Diana in Guadalajara.
